- BPI are taking the music community into the heart of the tech world on September 11th
- Regent Street Records to release new single after successful Innovation Hub collaboration
"Now in its 3rd year, it's exciting to see the BPI Innovation Hub grow from strength to strength. The range and variety of technology companies we now work with is astounding, though what is more encouraging is to see real word results emerge from the events and behind-the-scenes work" - Vanessa Higgins, BPI Innovation Hub Director
The latest BPI Innovation Hub is set to take place on Tuesday 11th September 2018 and will be hosted by The Rattle at Tobacco Docks. Previous hosts include The BPI, Runway East, 7digital and Digital Catapult.
Directed by Regent Street Records CEO and BPI Council member Vanessa Higgins, the forum is now in its third year and seeks to match up innovative tech businesses with record labels and music companies that are looking for creative technology solutions to help make the most of their business and commercial opportunities.
The event will feature a wide range of tech companies, from the gamifaction of stems in start-up PlayOnPlayer through to the big beast of AirBnb Live, as well as a range of independent and major record labels.
Any label or music/tech start-up company interested in participating at BPI Innovation Hub events, are invited to sign up via the website here.
In the lead up to the event, Regent Street Records are releasing a single called "Plan (Something Good)" which showcases collaboration with two of the companies who have come through the Innovation Hub - an app called VariPlay and with a video made by Rotor.
Vanessa Higgins, BPI Innovation Hub Director, said:
"Now in its 3rd year, it's exciting to see the BPI Innovation Hub grow from strength to strength. The range and variety of technology companies we now work with is astounding, though what is more encouraging is to see real word results emerge from the events and behind-the-scenes work, whether that be major labels such as Sony running AR/marketing campaigns with Landmrk, or independent labels like my very own Regent Street Records pushing the bounds of creativity with new apps like VariPlay.
We're very pleased to have the next event at The Rattle, as their forward-thinking and creative approach is very much in line with our own. With Music Week's inaugural Tech Summit following soon after, the cutting-edge of technology is exactly where labels should be focused in 2018."
Vanessa is closely supported by her Innovation Hub team, which includes Charles Fitzgerald, Anthony David King, Seth Jackson, and BPI Director of Independent Member Services, Chris Tams, who is responsible for its general administration.
The Rattle’s Chris Howard added:
"The BPI Innovation Hub was the first time I connected with those in the music industry that were truly passionate about helping entrepreneurs. It's a pleasure to host the next meeting in September at The Rattle and play a small part in the awesome work they do connecting cutting edge tech companies to future leaders in the music industry"
