2016 was another year of contrasts and change for the recorded music industry. Audio streaming continued to grow, with the first 'one billion streams' week occurring in December, yet vinyl demonstrated that physical formats were still in demand with sales reaching their highest level since the early 1990s.

'All About The Music' is the 38th edition of the BPI's Yearbook and - as its title suggests - is as much about the artists behind the statistics as the market data itself.
