The BRIT Awards 2018 with Mastercard takes place Wednesday 21st February at The O2, London, broadcast exclusively on ITV
The BRIT Awards 2018 with Mastercard today announces the recipient of the BRIT Award for British Producer, following the return of this category into the official BRITs Voting procedures.
Steve Mac’s 2017 production credits include Top Ten singles by P!nk, Rita Ora and Liam Payne, as well as co-writing and producing Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ which became the most streamed track of all time and the highest selling UK single of last year. Over the course of his career he has produced records with worldwide record sales of over 200 million, making him one of the UK’s most successful music producers right now. Steve also previously wrote and produced the BRIT Award winning single ‘Beat Again’ for JLS and has worked with former winners and nominees including Little Mix, Calvin Harris, One Direction and Charli XCX.
Steve Mac said: “I feel truly humbled to receive this prestigious award, especially as it’s voted for by my record label peers who I greatly respect. This really is the icing on the cake at the end of such an amazing year, not only for me personally but for British music.”

Mac will receive his award during proceedings around The BRITs show on Wednesday 21st February at The O2, London, which will be broadcast exclusively on ITV. The show will be hosted by Jack Whitehall and feature live performances by Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Stormzy and Dua Lipa, with more performers to be announced soon.
The nominations for the 2018 BRIT Awards will be revealed at ‘The BRITs Are Coming’ on Saturday 13th January, which will broadcast live on ITV; hosted by Emma Willis and include live performances from Paloma Faith, Clean Bandit, J Hus, Jorja Smith and Liam Payne.
The 38th BRIT Awards will be broadcast live on ITV and take place for the eighth year in a row at The O2, London.
Mastercard is celebrating its 20th year as headline sponsor of the BRIT Awards, and continues its sponsorship of the much sought-after Mastercard Album of the Year Award.
