As well as being the biggest night in British music, creating iconic cultural moments, The BRITs play a key role in promoting sustainable practices across the music industry. Each year The BRITs aims to be more environmentally-friendly than the last, taking practical steps to measure and lower its emissions, working with partners, suppliers, record labels and artists. For 2025, targets include minimising the use of virgin fossil fuels for the show as well as official merchandise. There is also a reduction in plastic use for branding, and a continuation in measuring audience travel data. All partners and artists are being provided information and guidance on sustainable travel options.

Sustainable catering practices are a major priority for The BRITs, and this year…

  • Vegetables will be locally sourced and seasonal, with British-sourced meat and cheese
  • Honey sourced from Urban beekeeping social enterprise promoting environmental sustainability and community engagement
  • All parts of raw ingredients are used in dishes to eliminate preparation wastage
  • Any on-the-night food waste is being collected and sent to make green gas
  • Environmentally friendly menu options for production staff including a number of 100% meat free menus on specific days
  • Reusable Event Cups for drinks and Earthshot-winning Notpla biodegradable seaweed-based food containers
