Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp to present BRIT Awards 2023: Red Carpet show on ITV2 & ITVX.
The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard today reveal the final live performance for this year’s show on 11th February as chart-topping Scottish music phenomenon Lewis Capaldi.
Lewis - who last performed at the 2020 ceremony - will join an all-star line-up alongside Cat Burns, David Guetta & Becky Hill & Ella Henderson, Harry Styles, Lizzo, Sam Smith & Kim Petras, Stormzy and Wet Leg, with award-winning comedian Mo Gilligan on hosting duties for a second year.
Lewis said: "Last time I played The BRIT Awards I was so scared that I had a panic attack before I went on, and then got hammered afterwards. Looking forward to more of the same this year x"
Lewis Capaldi - who is nominated for Song of the Year with Mastercard this year, which he won in 2020 along with Best New Artist - recently scored his fourth UK number 1 single with ‘Pointless’, following his previous three number 1’s in ‘Someone You Loved’ (2019), ‘Before You Go’ (2020), and ‘Forget Me (2022), and is the second single from his upcoming second studio album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent. To date, he has achieved 5 x Top Ten singles as well as 4 x No. 1’s (with ‘Someone You Loved’ the UK’s biggest streamed song of all time), and the biggest selling UK album of both 2019 and 2020 and over 25 billion global streams.
The BRIT Awards 2023 will take place Saturday 11th February at The O2 arena in London, broadcast exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX, in its first ever Saturday night slot, from 8.30pm GMT.
An extraordinary trio of broadcasting talent will come together for the BRIT Awards 2023: Red Carpet show on ITV2 and ITVX on the night of the awards from 7.30pm GMT. Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp will all return to host the exciting pre-event broadcast, bringing viewers all the gossip from the iconic BRITs red carpet as celebrities and artists arrive for the big night.
Clara said: “I’m so excited to hit the BRITs red carpet to capture all the excitement from this year’s nominees, performers and future winners for everyone watching at home! Anything can happen on what is set to be another memorable night in the music and TV calendar!”
Maya said: “I'm really excited to be co-hosting The BRITs Red Carpet show again this year, and I was just happy to be asked back! Last year was such a great experience, so I’m looking forward to working alongside Clara & Roman on it this time around. It’s gonna be a good one!”
Roman added: “I am so excited to be joining my friends Clara and Maya in presenting this year's BRITs Red Carpet show, and being part of the celebrations for this year's BRIT Awards in its first ever Saturday night slot! Nominations for the 2023 BRIT Awards were announced last month, with Harry and Wet Leg both nominated for four awards. Other artists nominated for multiple awards include Aitch, Arctic Monkeys, Beyoncé, Cat Burns, Dave, Ed Sheeran, Eliza Rose, Lizzo, Nova Twins, Sam Smith, Stormzy, Taylor Swift.
This year the BRIT award has been designed by Slawn, the Nigerian-born, London-based artist known for his large-scale canvases filled with a blend of caricature like pop figures and bold colourful forms, who follows in the footsteps of an illustrious list of creatives including Dame Vivienne Westwood, Sir Peter Blake, Tracey Emin, Dame Zaha Hadid, Sir David Adjaye and Es Devlin and Yinka Ilori, who have all previously imbued the iconic BRIT award with their own unique and artistic flair and vision.
R&B girl group FLO have already been announced as the winners of the 2023 Rising Star award, celebrating another future star of British music.
2023 will mark 30 years of ITV as broadcast partner, 25 years of Mastercard as headline sponsor and 13 years with the show held at The O2 arena. All three long-standing partners support The BRITs’ ambition to host an unforgettable and far-reaching evening of live music and entertainment that, additionally, helps raise money for The BRIT Trust, the charitable arm of the awards, who distribute funds to charities that promote education and well-being through music, including The BRIT School and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.
Mastercard returns as headline partner of The BRIT Awards for the 25th year, bringing cardholders closer to their passion for music through a range of BRITs experiences. This year, Mastercard will continue to partner with The BRIT School to celebrate and give a platform to the next generation of creative talent and will again sponsor the much sought after Mastercard Album of the Year award, as well as Song of the Year with Mastercard.
