Coming from Liverpool, Zuzu is what you get when you mix the modern pop landscape (one of her favourite artists is Cardi B) with a love for some of the UK’s most legendary rock acts (two of her other favourite artists are The Beatles and The Libertines).
Sitting somewhere between pop and indie-rock, she possesses a kick ass-ness which could make her a hugely influential artist in years to come – if you think of the impact of her contemporaries, such as Courtney Barnett, Warpaint and The Coral have achieved.
On single “Dark Blue” she rides a wave which goes from mellow indie-rock to up-beat, jumpy indie-pop choruses. You can easily imagine the mosh pits at her gigs.
