We've teamed up with W!ZARD Radio Station, the leading online teen radio station, dedicated to playing your favourite music before you know it. WR are picking a track from emerging UK talent every week that they predict will make it big to showcase here, on the BPI blog.
Hailing from Hackney, London is an artist on the road to becoming a very big deal.
23 Unofficial specialises in a mixture of rap, R&B and the new genre which incorporates Afrobeats, Dancehall and Rap – sometimes referred to as Afro Bashment. He first became established on the scene with 2017’s “Naughty”, featuring Not3s, however it is on single “Ain’t Bothered” where he has begun to make big moves.
The track – which now has over 6M streams on Spotify – is 23 Unofficial’s first shot in the limelight, a position supported by Complex, who listed him as one of their ‘Ones To Watch’ British MC’s for 2018, as well as the fact that he was invited onto the remix for B Young’s viral hit “Jumanji”.
With more music expected very soon, and some street tracks circulating in the meantime (“Can’t Tell Me” and “Day In The Life”), do not doubt the ability of 23 Unofficial.
