Duo Christian Pinchbeck and Tessa Cavanna – better known as ‘Girlhood’ – are one of the acts we are most looking forward to watching grow in 2018.
The emerging independent duo caught our attention in November with the release of their debut EP, ‘Girlhood Vol. 1’ which is a throwback mixed in with a sound entirely unique to themselves. With definite R&B flavours, their inspirations are many and can be heard through-out all of their, very good, music.
In "Bad Decisions” – our favourite track off of the EP – the duo experiment with 90s throwback vibes and jazzy tones which ring memories of Lauryn Hill and Macy Gray. In the track, Cavanna sings about the realisation of the bad decisions you once made, and what you do from there.
It’s a mystery as to how these two are not better known.
