The Classic BRIT Awards is delighted to announce its support for the London Music Fund by donating tickets to its talented scholars.
By attending THE classical event of the year, The Classic BRITs want to inspire the young scholars who receive London Music Fund support during the early years of their music education.
Established in 2012, the London Music Fund’s vision is to help every child who demonstrates significant musical ability, enthusiasm and commitment to learning an instrument across every London borough. Through their Scholarship programme, over 9,000 young musicians have been given the opportunity to develop their potential, through 4-year Scholarships and with project opportunities to learn from and perform alongside professionals.
From among the LMF Scholars – 20 will be chosen to attend the event with their parents/guardians. Their tickets will arrive in a golden envelope, containing their side stage pass to watch Classic FM presenters Myleene Klass and Alexander Armstrong host the Awards, from side of stage stall seats.
The evening of performances promises to be spell-binding for the young, aspiring musicians as they watch the 50-plus piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra accompany nine unique, once-in-a-lifetime performances. Michael Ball & Alfie Boe; Katherine Jenkins; Andrea Bocelli, Beatrice Rana, Bryn Terfel, Alexis Ffrench, Pretty Yende and Tokio Myers are all confirmed to perform on the evening.
The Classic BRIT Awards is keen to support music education in all its forms and recognises that playing a musical instrument can have a huge impact on a child’s life as well as those around them. We hope the Scholars will be inspired to remain dedicated to their passion for music.
Classic BRIT Awards co-chairs, Jonathan Shalit & Rebecca Allen, said: “This is exactly where The Classic BRITs’ heart lies. Enabling access high quality, exciting, professional performances is a big part of our Scholarship programme, and we are immensely grateful to everyone at the BPI for this once-in-a lifetime opportunity. I am certain that this will go a long way to inspiring The Classic BRIT Award winners of tomorrow.”
